Fairfield is revitalizing its charming historical downtown, and the Gateway leading to it, from highway I-80. Vacaville, Benicia, Napa and others look to Fairfield.
Central Fairfield is near intersecting highways 80, 12 and 680. It's the exact mid-point between San Francisco and Sacramento. Duane Kromm, County Board of Supervisors, is spear heading the highways I-80 and I680 interchange expansion.
Improvements to central Fairfield include the new arts center, our symphony, the upcoming six-story county government office building, and more.
Now the city is focusing on further major improvements for West Texas Street, the gateway from highway 80 into downtown Fairfield. Improvements include the stylish transportation center, its large modern office business center, the new skateboard park going into part of Allan Witt Park, and the upcoming modern shopping center.
